Case for Need: Keys to Stay Campaign

Helping families stay in their homes — whatever it takes.

Across Bannock County, more and more families are facing an impossible choice: pay rent/mortgage or cover basic necessities like gas, food, utilities, and healthcare. For many, one unexpected expense: a medical bill, car repair, or reduction in work hours, can quickly put their housing at risk.

At SEICAA, we see firsthand that housing instability doesn’t happen overnight. It builds quietly. A missed payment turns into late fees. Late fees turn into notices. And before long, families who have done everything right find themselves on the brink of eviction.

The reality is clear: most families don’t need long-term assistance—they need timely support at the right moment. A small amount of help can mean the difference between staying housed and experiencing homelessness.

The Keys to Stay Campaign is designed to meet that moment.

Through this campaign, SEICAA will provide critical financial assistance and supportive services to help individuals and families in Bannock County remain safely in their homes. This includes not only financial assistance for rent, but connections to community resources, and personalized support to stabilize each household’s situation.

When families remain housed:

  • Children stay in their schools
  • Individuals maintain employment
  • Health outcomes improve
  • Communities remain strong and connected

Preventing eviction is not only more humane, but also far more cost-effective than responding to homelessness after it occurs.

But we cannot do this work alone.

The Keys to Stay Campaign invites our community to come together to support neighbors in need. Every dollar raised directly helps keep a family housed, providing stability, dignity, and hope during times of uncertainty.

Because at the end of the day, this is about more than the money.
It’s about security, stability, and the foundation every family needs to move forward.

And sometimes, all it takes is the right support at the right time to give someone the Keys to Stay.
